Two New Zealand PeopleSoft implementations have been nominated for a prestigious US IT award.
Air New Zealand and Manukau City Council's projects have been nominated by PeopleSoft for the Computerworld Honours Collection, an award that champions service to society through the use of IT.
Air New Zealand has completed installing PeopleSoft financials and is working on Human Capital Management and payroll packages.
Manukau City Council's Business Transformation Project involves implementing PeopleSoft supplier relationship management, HR, CRM and other packages.
The council is two thirds of the way through its PeopleSoft implementation, which replaces a wide range of packages, some of which were very old.
A consortium of PeopleSoft, Hansen and SalesTech won both the supply and implementation tenders and until December, 60 council and contract staff were working on the project, with numbers scaled back since.
Finalists included Oracle and SAP and the bids were scorecarded on each module, such as finance, HR and CRM.
Manukau City Council was nominated for the government and non-profit category of the Computerworld Honours Collection and Air New Zealand, the largest PeopleSoft site in the country, has been nominated for the Transportation category. (Air New Zealand uses SAP for supply chain management in its engineering division.)
The Computerworld Honours Collection was founded in 1988 and winners in each category will be announced in June.
