Microsoft developers who fancy a calculated gamble will be pleased with the venue chosen for this year’s Tech Ed conference — the Sky City Convention Centre in Auckland.
Tech Ed 2004 kicks off with registration on August 1, and continues until 6pm on August 4. The Sky City centre is expected to open for evening functions this month and for daytime conventions from August, meaning that Tech Ed 2004 will be the first multi-day conference held at the new venue.
The 2004 conference is split into eight tracks named architecture, e-business, developer tools and technologies, security, windows infrastructure solutions, messaging, smart client solutions and data management.
Last year’s event drew 1250 attendees to the Aotea Centre. They attended 120 sessions presented by 78 speakers, including 32 from abroad.
A student-only day is scheduled before the main conference begins, on July 30. Microsoft says it will provide further information next month about Tech Ed 2004.
