Maori is to be added to the list of languages available in Windows and Office, Microsoft says.

From today the Maori glossary at Microsoft’s community glossary project, found online at members.microsoft.com/wincg, will be available for the public to contribute to.

Once the 80% most commonly used part of the software interface has been translated, a Maori language interface pack will be available for free download.

The Maori Language Commission will moderate the glossary.
