Digital Strategy response deadline looms

Be in now or don't complain about NZ government IT for the next five years

Responses to the government’s draft Digital Strategy are due by 5pm on Monday, August 16. The government has apparently had a large volume of feedback already, with a last-minute rush likely; but since the responses are being examined by a number of government departments it was difficult for anyone to come up with a reliable count this week.

There is, however, some scepticism in the industry as to how much effect public responses will have on changing, or firming up the strategy. Some industry bodies have said it is a pity they were not consulted before the proposals became as firm as they are in the "draft".

The main digital strategy page is at www.med.govt.nz/pbt/infotech/digital-strategy/index.html. This page, and links from it, give the strategy document in detail, a summary and guide notes for preparing a response.
