Government will get Office source code

Microsoft has extended its Government Security Programme to include access to the source code of Office 2003.

The shared source licence gives qualifying governments and international organisations access to the source code and technical information about Office 2003.

New Zealand joined the Government Security Programme in July 2003. The GSP gives the security community within the government controlled access to source code and other technical information so departments can be confident they can build secure solutions in partnership with Microsoft.

Terry Allen, Microsoft New Zealand enterprise and partner group director, says Microsoft will be working with the Government Communications Security Bureau to review the new offering.
