The IT recruitment market continues to consolidate, with OCG Consulting taking a 75% stake in Pinnacle Recruitment and Berkley Consulting acquiring IT sales staff specialist Amplify Sales.
The Berkley-Amplify deal took place in December, while the OCG-Pinnacle deal was completed earlier this year.
Amplify director Laurel McLay will stay on as a director, while Berkley’s Amanda Humphreys will join Amplify as a senior consultant.
Both OCG and Berkley have significant recruitment practices in fields outside IT, and have clearly made the acquisitions to boost their IT practices.
Both the Pinnacle and Amplify brand names will remain, in contrast to another ongoing IT recruitment merger — between QID and Starfish — which will see both names dropped and a new brand name announced on April 1.
QID’s Ben Pearson says the merger is progressing well and QID staff have moved to Starfish’s premises in Auckland and Wellington.
“We’re still operating separately and will move onto single floors on April 1,” he says.
