Fonterra CIO to depart

Van Den Assum to spend more time with family

Fonterra CIO Marcel Van Den Assum is leaving the job at the end of May. He says he is sick of travelling backwards and forwards to Auckland and wants to spend more time in Wellington with his family. He will be replaced by Stephen Wallace, who is Fonterra's manager of financial operations.

The replacement signifies that Fonterra is moving to an operational mode.
