Fujitsu drops GM and realigns

One job gone, one 'proposed' to go and one created

Fujitsu has disestablished the role of New Zealand general manager and says it proposes to also disestablish the role of national sales manager. New Zealand general manager Chris Brice was made redundant earlier this week.

The company is still in the consultation process with national sales manager Pieter De Villiers, but expects this to be concluded next week.

The company said in a statement to staff it proposes to create one new role, general manager sales, New Zealand. Fujitsu says this aligns it with a model that has driven business growth in Australia and addresses the company performance issues of recent times.

Fujitsu has appointed as interim manager Joel O’Halloran, who is expected to arrive in New Zealand today. He will be based in Wellington.
