Just about everything to do with IT and education is on the agenda at Ulearn, a conference hosted by the Ministry of Education and Core Education, a non-profit educational R&D organisation.
Ulearn is on at Auckland's Sky City convention centre from July 11-13 and keynote speakers include Michael Furdyk, co-founder and director of technology at Taking ITGlobal.org, a global online community with a youth focus. The founder of two internet companies, Furdyk is also an advisor to Microsoft and other organisations.
Also in the speaker line-up are Ian Jukes, educational speaker and director of consultancy the InfoSavvy group and Helen Barrett, assistant professor of education at the University of Alaska and an expert on e-portfolios.
There are 166 workshops on the agenda at Ulearn, ranging in subject from interactive whiteboards to cybersafety to enhancing maths and science with mobile technologies.
There will also be an ICT Education trade expo at the convention centre during the conference.
