Dell to include HSDPA in laptops

Wireless networking comes to laptops

Dell will build laptops with embedded modems that can connect to US wireless network operator Cingular’s HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) network.

Dell has already announced it will offer laptops which will connect with EV-DO networks starting next year.

New Zealand users stand to benefit from the new wireless networking options. Telecom’s 3G network uses EV-DO and Vodafone New Zealand is testing a HSDPA upgrade to its own 3G network.
