Telecom ditches AAPT CEO

AAPT will be split into two divisions, consumer and business

Telecom has eliminated the position of chief executive at its Australian subsidiary AAPT.

In a media release yesterday, Telecom announced AAPT will be divided into two "segment groupings", mass and managed. The mass market division, aimed at consumers, will be headed by Telecom chief financial officer Marko Bogoievski and the managed group, aimed at business users, by the company's IT services head Mark Ratcliffe.

AAPT chief executive Jon Stretch, who has held the position since 2003, leaves at the end of this month. Telecom had been rumoured for some time to be restructuring or possibly selling its Australian operations.
