Robert Gosling, managing director of Oracle New Zealand, has been promoted to vice president in charge of technology sales for Australia and New Zealand, based in Australia.
Gosling has been a fixture with Oracle New Zealand for 12 years, being made managing director in 2002 after five years in senior management with the company.
The dyed-in-the-wool Wellingtonian has worked in IT for more than 20 years, working with a range of organisations, including the Ministry of Defence, Datapoint Corporation and Wang New Zealand. He is also a member of the ITANZ (Information Technology Association of New Zealand) executive.
Until a replacement managing director is appointed, Gosling will continue to run the New Zealand operation as well as taking up his new role. There is no word from Oracle as to whether the new MD will be based in New Zealand and if so whether they will continue in the Wellington office or relocate to Auckland.
Gosling takes up his new position in June.
