Recruiter QID will ditch the name and brand it has spent several years building up when it merges with fellow recruiter Starfish next year.
QID’s Ben Pearson says the merged entity will have a new name, which will be unveiled early in the new year.
While QID has spent “some equity” establishing its current brand, “it doesn’t stand for what we will being doing in 2007”, Pearson says.
Starfish does management consulting and ICT contracting as well as recruitment, while QID is purely a recruitment firm. Pearson says the non-recruitment aspects of Starfish’s business will remain separate and continue under the Starfish name, but with a close association with the new merged recruitment entity.
“Having that association with a management consulting business will enable us to engage with clients at a different level and provide a range of services,” he says.
QID went to the market “looking for a variety of ways to build our business”, he says.
When the synergies between it and Starfish were examined, a merger became the best option, he says.
