Simpl New Zealand has appointed Graham Norton-Standen as chairman.
London-based Norton-Standen has been a Simpl board member since January 2007. Previously, he was the CEO of Gartner International.
Prior to joining Gartner, where he was responsible for all of Gartner’s business outside the US, Norton-Standen was president of the strategic growth markets group of EDS, responsible for 13 countries throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The role at Simpl is expected to bring Norton-Standen to New Zealand on a regular basis.
He is also the chairman and CEO of Applied Intelligence Group (AIG), a consulting firm focused on providing brokering, information technology, business transformation and structured investment services covering Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region. His customers include for example British Telecom, Hewlett Packard, Cable & Wireless, Deutsche Bank and Reuters.
“We are extremely pleased to have Graham join our company,” says Simpl founder and CEO Bennett Medary. “His reputation as a highly results-driven and motivational international chairman, together with his belief that New Zealand should view its location as an opportunity, fits perfectly with the direction we are heading as a company.”
Norton-Standen says he joined Simpl for its ability to leverage its passion and people into its performance and customer relationships, which he came across in London as Simpl and AIG both have relationships with British Telecom.
Simpl is based in Auckland, with offices in Wellington, Melbourne and London.
Its customers include local telcos, central and local government, Fonterra, Transpower, District Health Boards, as well as British Telecom, Telstra Business Australia, Shell and Microsoft worldwide.
