Veteran Butchers to lead Lenovo NZ

Former IBMer takes country manager role

Lenovo NZ has announced that PC industry veteran Dean Butchers will take the helm at the company.

Formerly Lenovo’s director for transactional sales in Asia-Pacific, Wellington-based Butchers has also held large enterprise and strategic sales management positions with the company, says Alan Munro, Lenovo’s Australia and New Zealand general manager. Butchers remit is to increase Lenovo's business with corporate, government, education and SMBs (small- and medium-sized businesses).

Butchers first joined IBM’s personal computing division (which was acquired by Lenovo in May 2003) in 1995 as and marketing manager for notebook products. Before that, he worked for Databank Systems, HP and Telecom New Zealand.
