New TelstraClear mobile service to be launched

Deal with Telecom comes after TC ends agency relationship with Vodafone

TelstraClear has signed a deal with Telecom that will enable it to launch a nationwide mobile service later this year.

Under the deal, signed today, TelstraClear will launch its own mobile service, providing what it claims will be "a unique range of mobile services, bundles and prices via the Telecom network".

TelstraClear-branded handsets will be part of the offering, according to the carrier's CEO, Dr Allan Freeth.

The announcement notes that further details will be provided "closer to the time" the new service is launched.
