KAREN names partners

TelstraClear and Objective Corporation are the first two accredited service and content partners

TelstraClear and Objective Corporation are the first two accredited service and content partners on KAREN, the Kiwi Advanced Research and Education Network.

Donald Clark, chief executive of KAREN manager REANNZ, says partners will be able to provide all KAREN members with solutions to support better research and education for the country. Members currently are the universities, Crown research institutes and the National Library, and will include all schools, libraries, archives, art galleries and museums in the future.

“The backbone provides huge bandwidth capability," says TelestraClear’s head of enterprise and government, Mark Wilson. "TelstraClear aims to provide services to allow potential smaller operators to link and access information at speeds which otherwise might have been out of their reach,”

Tony Walls, CEO of enterprise content management provider Objective Corporation, says his company’s solution will allow KAREN members to leverage the benefits of collaboration and information sharing by enabling members to store, find, share, secure, protect and monitor their organisation’s content — regardless of format.
