UPDATE - 4.30pm

Vodafone spokesperson Matt East says the fault has been resolved and service is back to normal for mobile customers in the affected areas.

"Fault was picked up at about 1300 today. Hard to say how many customers were affected given the intermittent nature of the fault. I’m not clear on what caused the fault, but it appeared to be a damaged fibre cable," he says.
