TelstraClear is moving its operational support services in-house after seven years outsourcing these to Unisys.
TelstraClear is creating 24 new jobs in its in-house operational support services team.
The move provides an opportunity to standardise and consolidate the IT environment, says TelstraClear chief executive, Allan Freeth.
Operational benefits include improved flexibility and high speed response to changing requirements, something that is not always achievable under contract conditions, he says.
Other benefits are the ability to provide staff with additional career path options within the company and to retain specialist skills within the organisation, says TelstraClear.
“While we are disappointed at TelstraClear’s decision to move IT support in house, we are proud of what Unisys has achieved over the last seven years in providing these services to TelstraClear," says Unisys managing director Brett Hodgson. Terry Shubkin, Unisys' account and service delivery manager, says Unisys will continue to support TelstraClear's voicemail platform and engage in supporting mutual clients.
