CIO of the Year and Emerging ICT talent finalists announced

Awards to be presented at CIO Summit later this month

The finalists in the 2011 CIO of the year and Emerging IT Talent Awards have been announced.

The four finalists for CIO of the year are: Michael Collins, CIO, Otago Polytechnic; Ken Holley, head of technology, Localist; Russell Jones, chief operations officer, ASB Bank; and Matt O'Mara, CIO, Careers New Zealand.

The three contenders for Emerging IT Talent are: Amber Craig, senior designer, Telecom; Connon Daly, manager, The IT Team, Hairy Lemon Web Solutions; and Daniel McKenzie, developer, Trade Me.

The winners will be announced at the CIO Summit, which is being held at the SkyCity Convention Centre in Auckland on June 27-28.

The CIO of the Year Award is sponsored by NetApp, and celebrates the success of individual CIOs, as well as their team.

The Emerging IT talent award, which is being presented for the first time this year, is sponsored by Hudson and recognises exceptional ICT talent in professionals aged under 30.
