Eagle Technology is to resell services from Data Insurance, which has developed a product that combines the redundancy of data storage with the financial protection of traditional insurance.
Sales manager Duane Eagle says Data Insurance has pulled together the financial resources of QBE, Australasia’s largest general insurance and reinsurance group, the Tier 3 datacentre infrastructure of Unisys, the automated back-up and restore software from Attix5, and its own solution.
“All this has been vetted by Munich Re’s global security team, the world’s largest reinsurer,” he says.
“After a thorough data audit, companies select their mission-critical data to be covered and nominate a value for that data. We then install the software, which provides encrypted online back-up and storage capabilities on the devices, which can range from iPads to large enterprise infrastructure.”
In the case of total system breakdown and data destruction at the client site, the stored data can be replicated as soon as the infrastructure has been replaced.
Data Insurance Licensing Ltd has had patents issued in Singapore and has patents pending in the US, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, China and India.
