2degrees has appointed two new senior executives, both of whom have New Zealand telco experience.
Martin Levy is the new head of strategy and business development. Previously Levy worked for Woosh Wireless and was CEO of RoamAD, a wi-fi equipment vendor. It is a new role at the mobile telco and replaces parts of the role held by the departing chief operating officer Bill McCabe, who has returned to Britain.
Sarah Howells is the new head of customer care. Most recently she was CEO of Les Mills International and prior to that was GM of customer service at Vodafone New Zealand.
Tomorrow 2degrees intends to announce a move into a “new market segment” , believed to be the Small Medium Enterprise market.
When 2degrees launched in August 2009 it began with a simple pre-pay offer and it has been gradually working its way up the value chain. In August last year the company announced a data offering, with plans aimed primarily at the consumer market. “Business users have a whole different set of needs and demands, but if we’re successful in a few years hopefully we can build that. But for now we’re focussed on delivering a product to consumer, family and small businesses,” 2degrees CEO Eric Hertz said at last year’s 3G launch.
