Fujitsu has upgraded its 2.5-inch SATA disk drive line with the addition of the new MHZ2 BT-series offering, which provides up to 500GB of storage capacity in a three-platter design.
Fujitsu says the new offering will be available in 400GB and 500GB packages and will ship in May. The company's previous 2.5-in. SATA device offered capacities of 160GB, 200GB and 300GB.
The company declined to disclose pricing plans for the new drive.
The MHZ2 BT storage device spins at speeds of up to 4,200 rpm, offers improved power efficiency and runs quieter than the company's older 2.5-in. SATA drives. It doesn't require a built-in fan.
