At 4.20pm, Vodafone issued this statement:
"The intermittent issues with 2G data services, TXT-a-Park, MTicket and Corporate Connect Services have now been resolved.
"Cause of the issue was an unstable data link between network components, the link has been re-routed and normal service has resumed.
"Please note, 2G voice and TXT were not affected by this issue. 3G services (voice, text and mobile broadband) were not affected either.
"Vodafone apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience"
The original statement issued earlier this afternoon states:
Vodafone is experiencing what it terms "some intermittent issues with 2G data services, TXT-a-Park, MTicket and Corporate Connect Services."
In a statement, the company says: "This will mean that some customers may not be able to do the following:
*Browse internet or check emails on 2G devices.
*Pay for parking using TXT-a-Park
*Purchase tickets using MTicket
*Corporate Communication tools.
*Mobile Data Network services.
"Please note, 2G voice and TXT are not affected by this issue. 3G services (voice, text and mobile broadband) are not affected.
"Our engineers are working to fix this as quickly as possible"
