SSC appoints GTS general manager

Stephen Crombie takes up the role in May

The State Services Commission has appointed Stephen Crombie as general manager of the new Government Technology Services (GTS) business unit, says deputy ICT commissioner, Laurence Millar.

Crombie, who will take up the role in the end of May, will be responsible for providing government agencies with shared ICT infrastructure, products and services.

Crombie will lead the GTS team, which includes three business managers — Identity Management Services, Network and Infrastructure Services, and Government Information Services; three line groups — Business Development and Uptake, Technology Services, and Service Delivery; as well as one staff group — Organisational Strategy and Performance. Appointments to these positions are currently being made.

Crombie is currently vice president of international and group sales at Tait Electronics. He has worked for Telecom and Ericsson and has also worked in the New Zealand public sector.
