Fertiliser manufacturer Ballance has selected SAP to replace its legacy applications
The deal includes SAP ERP, supply chain management (SCM), and customer relationship management (CRM)
Ballance’s legacy system had been heavily customised. When it came time to upgrade, the company opted for SAP’s packaged software as it would better achieve desired business benefits.
Elizabeth Harper, corporate services general manager at Ballance, says the company is aiming to future-proof its business with this implementation.
"We have selected IBM as our implementation partner to help us to manage the business transformation and benefits realisation,” she said in a statement.
The deal includes a number of SAP NetWeaver licences as well as SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (SAP NetWeaver PI) and SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe. NetWeaver is SAP's SOA integration and application platform.
Other agricultural and rural users of SAP include RD1, Gallagher Group, Livestock Improvement, Dexcel (DairyNZ) and Dupont New Zealand, SAP says.
