Vodafone New Zealand boosted its service revenue by 20% in the year to 31 March, 2008, its parent has announced.
“New Zealand also saw strong growth in service revenue, which increased by 20%, or by 10.1% at constant exchange rates, driven primarily by a 16.7% increase in the average contract customer base and strong growth in data and fixed line revenue,” a report on Vodafone UK’s website says.
One reported indicator suggests customers are getting a better deal. Vodafone NZ’s billed minutes for mobile voice services grew from 771 million to 904 million year-on-year, but average monthly revenue per user was flat for prepaid customers and falling for those on contract.
Vodafone added 57,000 new mobile subscribers in the quarter to March 31, taking its total subscribers to 2.37 million.
In the same period, Telecom added 41,000 mobile connections to reach 2.16 million.
