Axon has launched a real-time software as a service monitoring system for virtualised operating environments, claiming it’s a first for New Zealand.
CEO Scott Green says Axon Performance Manager, which is based on BMC performance manager tools, can be implemented within days and is charged on a monthly per CPU basis.
“Virtualisation has huge potential benefits but each instance still needs to be managed individually,” he says.
“If you don’t have effective monitoring, you run the risk of problems not being identified and compounding. You have to be able to look at virtualisation at a granular level.”
Green says 80% of the projects where Axon is engaged either have virtualisation as the sole purpose, or it is an integral part of the project.
“What we’re delivering is a fast and easy way for clients to focus on their business, not another set of infrastructure tools which only serve to overwhelm users with a flood of alerts and create more work rather than less.”
Last month Axon went live with a new business service management system, following a $1 million upgrade of its BMC Remedy service desk software to an ITIL v3 aligned version of the Remedy IT services management suite (ITSM).
Green says ITSM will enable a much higher first-time fix performance in diagnosing and resolving incidents.
