Datacom has upped its revenue by 15% and its after-tax proft by 7% in its latest financial results.
The result for the year ended March 31 showed total revenue of $450 million, with $263 million of that coming from New Zealand and $187 million from Australia and Asia. The latter showed the biggest increase, being 34% up on last year, while local revenue was up 5%.
However, local profit was up 12% and significant new business was won during the year, chairman John Houldsworth is quoted as saying in a media release announcing the results.
According to the release, highlights for the year include several acquisitions in Australia and opening new offices in Canberra and Perth, and the purchase of a site in Auckland for the construction of a new datacentre, due for completion next year.
During the year, several hundred new staff were hired, bringing total headcount to 3,000.
