Electricity's live reconciliation

System keeps track of more than 2.5 million electricity meters in New Zealand

The Electricity Commission has gone live with its new registry and reconciliation system, which keeps track of more than 2.5 million electricity meters in New Zealand.

It provides the algorithms that determine which retailer owes which wholesaler, as well as how much is owed.

Commission general manager Mervyn English says Jade Software completed the system enhancements on time and in accordance with the new reconciliation rules.

Jade managing director Rod Carr says the project was a classic example of a complex data model which is capable of handling the multi-faceted and changing business rules required to meet a unique business model.

The Electricity Commission is a long-standing Jade customer.
