Sybase has launched the Sybase Unwired Platform, which allows customers to group together individual products previously offered for mobilising enterprise applications.
The platform, to be released later this year, will allow IT managers to use a single administrative console to centrally manage, secure and deploy mobile data as well as applications and the actual devices that run the applications.
Sybase has also announced SQL Anywhere 11, which includes more than 200 new features for the popular database and synchronisation tool. SQL Anywhere 10, the previous version, shipped nearly two years ago.
SQL Anywhere is embedded in servers, desktops, remote office devices and handhelds. One new feature allows users to do full-text searches.
