Renaissance buys Educational Computers

Boosts presence in Wellington education market

The education division of NZX-listed IT distributor Renaissance has inked an agreement to acquire the business of Wellington–based computer reseller Educational Computers (NZ).

Educational Computers will become part of the StudentIT group of education stores within the Renaissance Education Division from 1 October, 2008.

There is a lot of synergy between StudentIT and ECNZL and the two businesses will complement each other, better meeting the needs of staff and students in the greater Wellington area, says Graham Prentice, general manager of Renaissance Education Division.

Educational Computers (NZ) director Victor Kattenbelt will stay on as a business consultant to StudentIT and will help in the smooth transition of ownership.
