CEO takes up vice-chancellor's role at Canterbury

Jade Software CEO Dr Rod Carr has been appointed to the position of vice-chancellor at the University of Canterbury, effective from 1 February 2009.

Carr joined Jade in July 2003 and has been responsible for the company’s turnaround, restoring it to profitability and subsequently growing the company. Over the past five years the company has increased its revenue from $32.2 million in the 12 month period to 30 June 2004 to $51 million for the 12 month period to 30 September 2008.

“The Jade Group is now a much stronger entity as a result of Dr Carr’s leadership," Jade chairman Ruth Richardson says. "The company has a solid capital base, is experiencing consistent growth across all its business units, and has an experienced and able executive team."
