The Commerce Commission has today published a register of telecommunication companies who are wholesale customers of Chorus.
The register follows the separation of Chorus from Telecom Retail today, and is required under the Telecommunications Amendment Act 2011.
Under the act, Chorus is restricted from supplying retail services and must not supply telecommunications or related companies if that company consumes 25 percent or more of the total Chorus services supplied.
Wholesale customers must be on the register to be compliant with the act.
There are currently 39 companies on the register, most of which are ISPs or network operators which are competing with Telecom Retail, Gen-i, and Xtra to provide services to retail customers.
The full register can be found on the Commerce Commission website, along with details for applying, receiving updates, and making complaints.
