Fleet tracker Imarda scores Aussie deal

Aussie transport company Boral buys 1,000 SmartTrack units

Fleet tracking company Imarda has won a substantial deal with Australian construction conglomerate Boral to supply 1,000 of its SmartTrack units over at least the next three years.

The deal is on top of products Imarda has already installed across Boral’s transport and construction operations.

“Boral is one of our most important customers in the Australian region," says Simon Illingworth, Imarda's director and VP of sales for Asia Pacific.

Illingworth says Imarda has completed integration of its SmartTrack product with Boral’s Command Alkon concrete management system and Oracle’s Sidewinder.

Boral anticipates making cost savings through productivity gains following the implementation and has been impressed with the integration with its software systems.

It will use the technology to monitor compliance driver safety compliance, specifically meeting legislative requirements being introduced around driver fatigue, says Andrew Rosengren, general manager of Boral Transport.

Boral is listed on the Australian stock exchange with interests in Australia, the USA and South East Asia.

Imarda acquired Australian company SmartTrack last year for NZ$7.3 million.
