Transport body seeks CIO

Roading agency to appoint IT chief

The New Zealand Transport Agency is seeking a CIO.

The agency, which was formed last year from the merger of Land Transport New Zealand and Transit New Zealand, is advertising the role. According to an ad on the Seek website, the position will command a $200,000-plus salary.

The agency hasn’t had a fulltime CIO since it was formed on August 1.

Speaking to Computerworld in October, acting CIO Tony West said “it will be several months before we have a definitive overview of what is happening in regards to the reprioritisation of IT projects”, and that the appointment of a fulltime CIO or equivalent would happen “in the coming months”.
