Google is cutting 200 staff worldwide, including some in Australia and New Zealand.
Google is targeting its sales and marketing operations in the cuts, which have resulted in the closure of its Melbourne office and staff cuts in New Zealand, the Australian Financial Review reports.
15 staff have been retrenched so far across Australia and New Zealand as Google is reportedly centralising its ad sales to its Sydney office.
The cuts affect around 1% of Google's workforce and comes after an earlier cull of 100 HR staff.
Google was not prepared to elucidate on its changes.
"Your piece is accurate and I don't have anything further to add to it," Annie Baxter, Google's Australia-based public relations manager, says.
