New Zealand audio technology developer Phitek Systems has won a deal with United Airlines, the third largest airline in the US. Phitek will supply its patented active noise cancellation headphones for United Airlines first and business class. Phitek’s noise cancellation technology will be available for the premium cabin on United’s transcontinental flights. United Airlines, co-founder of the Star Alliance, has one of the world’s largest loyalty programme and operates nearly 3,000 flights per day. Phitek's other customers in the airline industry include Singapore Airlines, Finnair, Emirates and Air New Zealand. Phitek headphones have also been rated "best in class" by the independent US Consumer Report, according to the company.
