IBM buys Exeros

Firm to become part of IBM BI range

IBM has bought the data discovery software assets of Exeros, which makes software that automates the search for relationships between different databases.

IBM plans to integrate the Exeros tools into its Information Management Software range. That range includes software from Cognos, which IBM acquired in November 2007.

The Exeros software can cut the cost of data warehousing and master data management, IBM says.

IBM did not disclose the terms of the acquisition.

Exeros' CEO and co-founder, Piyush Gupta, is a former IBM employee.
