Amy Adams swaps Internal Affairs for Environment

Adams keeps ICT portfolio in cabinet reshuffle

Amy Adams has swapped the Internal Affairs portfolio for Environment in a cabinet reshuffle following the resignation of Nick Smith from cabinet.

Adams retains the ICT portfolio.

Prime Minister John Key says the Internal Affairs portfolio will be handed to Chris Tremain, who will become a minister inside Cabinet.

David Carter will assume the role of Local Government Minister in addition to his current portfolio of Primary Industries.

Tim Groser will also become the new Minister for Climate Change Issues.

Tauranga MP Simon Bridges is to be appointed a minister outside Cabinet and will be the new Consumer Affairs Minister and Associate Minister of Transport and the Associate Minister for Climate Change Issues.
