Specialist IBM solutions and services company Certus Solutions is the first company in Australia and New Zealand to achieve a “Best-of-the-Best” ranking from the international professional services industry research firm SPI Research.
Service Performance Insight (SPI) Research publishes an annual Professional Services Maturity benchmark report. A total of 216 professional services firms around the world provide benchmarking information spanning 177 key performance indicators.
The “Best-of-the-Best” are assessed as those scoring in the top five percent across five service performance areas: leadership, client relationships, human capital alignment, service execution, and finance and operations. An analysis of the reasons behind their performance is included in the benchmark report.
SPI developed the PS Maturity Model in 2007 as a strategic planning and management framework. It is now the industry-leading performance improvement tool used by more than 5000 service and project-oriented organizations.
Certus Solutions is ranked number three out of 11 firms representing the top five percent of those participating in the 2012 survey.
Certus CEO Brian Allen says professional services firms around the world are keenly interested in the benchmark as it provides a robust method for firms to measure themselves against their competitors, using a balanced score card approach that includes the key performance indicators fundamental to the success of any professional services firm. He says the data provided by the “Best-of-the-Best” winner is audited by SPI Research and has high credibility. The benchmark is supported by major industry players such as Microsoft, SAP and NetSuite.
Certus has recorded year-on-year growth averaging 40 percent over the past four years, Allen says, with annual revenues now at around $A70 million, and 160 staff working from offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Auckland and Wellington.
