Vodafone extends presence in retirement village operator

However, other divisions of the organisation are on Gen-i's XT

Radius Health Group is providing fertile ground for both Gen-i and Vodafone to claim client wins, with different divisions of the healthcare provider choosing the two mobile providers.

For example, Radius Health Group division Radius Residential Care has extended its mobile-only contract with Vodafone to include fixed line and broadband connections.

Radius Residential Care operates 22 rest homes around New Zealand. In a statement from Vodafone announcing the win, Brien Cree, CEO of Radius Residential Care, says Vodafone offered “flexibility and a tailored plan that suited our business operation best”.

Vodafone and agency Digital Mobile were “open to a conversation about how Radius works”, rather than trying to fit the rest home operator into a “one size fits all” standard model, Cree says.

Incentives such as discounted international calling didn’t count for much in the tender, he says, “because we make so few calls overseas”.

Radius Residential Care is looking at its hosting and online services and may move them to Vodafone, Cree says.

Earlier this year, Gen-i signed two other divisions of Radius Health Group, Radius Pharmacy and Radius Medical, to Telecom’s XT network. Previously, those divisions were on Vodafone.
