Telco Carriers' Forum finds new CEO

Former Vodafone industry affairs chief takes central role

David Stone has been appointed CEO of the Telecommunications Carriers' Forum (TCF), replacing Ralph Chivers, who left in June to become programme manager for the government's $1.5 billion broadband project.

The forum says balancing the promotion of competition and encouraging investment is a key challenge Stone will face.

Previously Vodafone New Zealand’s head of industry affairs, and a TCF Board member, Stone’s industry background spans more than a decade, starting at Clear Communications.

“The TCF is delighted David can represent our entire industry and help us prosper in challenging times,” said TCF chairman Richard Westlake.
