The Australian arm of state owned telecommunications company kordia, Kordia Solutions Australia (Kordia) has won a A$90 million ($117 million) communications services contract with Australia Pacific LNG.
Kordia says it will supply communications and controls infrastructure for Australia Pacific LNG’s coal seam gas project in rural Queensland.
The two year project will include the construction of a private network incorporating a microwave backbone, mobile voice, broadband wireless, PABXs, radio telemetry and LAN and WAN services, with links back to a control centre in Brisbane.
“Kordia is looking forward to extending our extensive infrastructure experience in the telecommunications sector into a resources industry looking for innovation and best of breed solutions,” says Kordia managing director Peter Robson in a media statement.
Earlier this month Computerworld reported that Kordia is undergoing a strategic review, with the findings expected to be made public later this year.
