TelstraClear half year results flat

Slightly increased sales are offset by slightly increased costs

TelstraClear's parent Telstra announced the New Zealand operation's half year results today, showing a small increase in income for the half year ended Decembver 2009.

Total income reached NZ$348 million, up from $346 million in 2008.

However, operating expense also increased to $274 million from $272 million leaving the company's earnings before interest and tax static at $4 million after depreciation expenses.

The results include trans-Tasman revenue.

Meanwhile, parent Telstra posted a 3.3 percent drop in profit to A$1.85 billion for the half year and forecast an improvement in the current half. Telstra's revenue was $12.3 billion, down on $12.7 billion in the same half of 2008.
