Four years after changing its name from Computer Associates to CA, the management software vendor has re-branded itself once more, taking the title of CA Technologies.
The name change was announced at the company’s CA World conference in Las Vegas this week.
In a media release on the company’s website, CEO Bill McCracken is quoted as saying: “The name CA Technologies acknowledges both our past and points to our future as a leader in delivering the solutions that will revolutionise the way IT powers business agility”.
According to the release, the brand and name change was designed with insights from nearly 700 customers, partners and others and was “developed to ensure the delivery of a consistent story in the market that reflects the full breadth and depth of what the company offers”.
The firm’s last major brand change was in February 2006, when it announced it would be known as CA, rather than the Computer Associates.
