Paul Muckleston appointed new Microsoft NZ MD

Veteran of NZ and overseas Microsoft roles to take over from Kevin Ackhurst

Paul Muckleston has been appointed Managing Director for Microsoft New Zealand.

He will start in his new role 2 August 2010 and replaces Kevin Ackhurst, who is moving to Singapore to take up the position of vice-president Sales and Marketing for Asia Pacific.

Muckleston joined Microsoft in 1996 as an account manager in the Enterprise Partner Group Other roles he held before moving to Europe in 2005 include director of the Developer and Platform Group, and director small and midmarket solutions and partners.

In 2005, he moved to Paris as director for strategy and business management for Central and Eastern Europe. Two years later he shifted to Munich to take up the role of general manager for small and midmarket solutions and partners for Central and Eastern Europe.

He returned to New Zealand last year to take up the role of director of marketing and operations.
