2Degrees won't pass on GST hike

No plans to up prices, mobile operator says

"No price increase" is the reaction of our newest mobile network provider to the 2.5 per cent increase in GST kicking in on October 1. In a slick marketing move, 2degrees says its ''committed to keeping mobile simple and affordable for New Zealanders'' by not passing on the GST rise to 15 per cent. "We offer New Zealanders some of the best value Mobile Broadband, Prepay and Pay Monthly options. This will remain unchanged post October 1," chief marketing officer Larrie Moore said. The company's recently launched $39 Pay Monthly plan will remain, "in stark contrast to some other mobile providers who are raising prices of many of their products," he said. The Pay Monthly plan offers 120 minutes of call time to any network in New Zealand and 600 texts for $39.00.
