Vodafone and members of a consortium of electricity lines and fibre companies are to meet today to discuss a joint bid for the government's Rural Broadband Initiative, according to a newspaper report. According to sources, Vodafone chief executive Russell Stanners and members of the Regional Fibre Group will meet to discuss the bid for the $300 million initiative, writes The Dominion Post. The paper says it is understood the Regional Fibre Group would front the bid, which would go head-to-head with another from Telecom.
