Restructuring of the Ministry of Health’s information directorate has led to the loss of 38 jobs.
The former directorate was organised into two information groups within the National Health Board: the information strategy group and the information delivery and operations group.
The strategy group is responsible for a whole-of-sector design and strategy for health IT. It works across a range of delivery teams, including primary care, district health boards, commercial and the information delivery and operations group. The latter is responsible for delivering and operating ministry infrastructure and systems, national infrastructure and systems, payment and funding systems, national collection and reporting system, and managing and providing access to health information.
The information strategy group has 24 fulltime equivalent jobs, and the delivery and operations group 222. The restructuring resulted in a reduction of 62 FTEs. Of these, 24 were appointed to new roles in the ministry, and 38 have left the ministry.
